An introductory course to millinery, the art of hat making. 

Learn the history of this long time craft and apply some of the age old techniques and new materials. During the course students will learn to take head measurements, block/stretch felt and straw hats and make soft forms. Students will design and make three different hats crafted from each of these methods. Discover the wide variety of hats, from brimmed, top hats, soft form and caps. Learn hat nomenclature and vocabulary, research famous hat designers and pick up some hat trivia.
