Introduction to sewing and simple pattern drafting: Students will first learn the basic functionality of a sewing machine, i.e. threading, stitches, tension, etc., followed by how to sew with control using stitch sheets.

Three projects will be made during the course, beginning with a pillow case, then a tote-bag with decorative exterior pocket of choice, followed by a garment project of 4 preselected choices by the instructor. All projects will begin with the drafting of patterns. Students may bring their own sewing machines, (w/ manual), fabric and tools.
