Hate math? Love math? This class is for everyone who wants to try the deceptively simple process of crocheting a hyperbolic plane—a mathematical model that even the math-phobic love. Beginners will learn a basic crochet stitch, followed by instruction in creating the fun, curvaceous geometry of the hyperbolic plane. Experienced crocheters will be able to jump ahead to master this oddly simple form, and perhaps to add variations. At the end of the workshop you will have a complete, or nearly complete, hyperbolic plane to take home, and the knowledge to make more. Fun and simple to make, they are also great gifts, bath scrubs, baby and adult toys, too! For sample images, see http://thinkingwiththings.com/
